Terveystalo buys Silmäasema in €574m deal

10 June 2026

Listed Finnish healthcare giant Terveystalo has announced a transformative agreement to acquire Silmäasema, the leading eye care and optical retail provider in Finland, for an enterprise value of approximately €574 m.

The transaction will be funded through an initial cash payment of €275m alongside the issuance of 36.5 million new Terveystalo shares. Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to complete by late 2026 or in the first quarter of 2027.

Upon completion, Silmäasema will operate as a distinct business segment under its existing brand. Terveystalo aims to create a leading outpatient platform with a strong focus on high-margin, out-of-pocket customer journeys.

Silmäasema generated net sales of €267m and adjusted operating profit of €37m last year.

Terveystalo is Finland’s largest private healthcare provider. It operates medical centres, hospitals, occupational healthcare services, and digital health platforms across Finland, serving both individual patients and corporate clients.
