NORD Holding buys VisionmaxX stake

8 April 2026

In a significant move for European healthcare technology, German private equity firm NORD Holding has acquired a majority stake in VisionmaxX Group, a major consolidation play within a fragmented market.

Despite speculation covering a wide range of figures in the press the value of the transaction has not been publicly released but PE deals in this space are typically done in a range of 10-15x EBITDA.

For operators, this acquisition highlights the accelerating demand for specialised digital infrastructure. Founded in 2004, VisionmaxX is an IT partner for dental and orthodontic practices across Germany and Austria.

The company provides a comprehensive suite of services, including medical telematics, practice software integration, and strict cybersecurity solutions. Through its sister company VisionCare, the group is already expanding into the broader care sector. Under the new ownership structure, founders Steffen Konrad and Jens Schlerf will retain a significant minority shareholding.

VisionmaxX could now be set to shift from a niche dental specialist into the central digital platform for outpatient healthcare across the German speaking region.
