Joe O’Connor is assuming the role of CEO at Elysium Healthcare effective January 2026, bringing extensive healthcare leadership experience Ramsay Health Care’s UK mental health subsidiary.

He will join Ramsay’s Group Executive Leadership Team, and brings more than two decades of leadership experience across health, social care and professional services, including as CEO of Four Seasons Health Care Group and senior healthcare advisory

O’Connor is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales with extensive experience in operational transformation, governance and stakeholder engagement across regulated sectors, and has served on governance boards and industry bodies across the UK, including the Policy Board for Care England, influencing on key matters across the care sector.

His appointment aligns with Ramsay’s strategic focus on implementing “operational rigour” with a “focus on financial outcomes” across its recently acquired businesses.

Elysium, which Ramsay acquired in January 2022, operates across 76 sites in the UK with more than 9,000 employees , positioning it as a leading provider in the rapidly growing mental health sector.
