G Square acquiring majority stake in Serres Global

20 January 2026

Prominent European healthcare private equity investor G Square has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Serres, the Finnish MedTech leader specialising in sustainable surgical fluid management solutions.

The transaction, expected to close Q1 2026, involves the Paree Group (the Jyllilä family) retaining a significant stake as a strategic partner. For investors, the deal represents a high-conviction play in the mid-market healthcare sector, targeting a company that already serves 50% of the world’s top 100 hospitals and supports over 80,000 surgical procedures daily.

From an operational perspective, the partnership is designed to transform Serres from a family-owned champion into a dominant international MedTech platform. G Square intends to leverage its deep healthcare expertise and global networks to accelerate growth in the United States, while expanding the company’s footprint across other global markets. The value creation strategy focuses on three primary pillars: investment in new products, enhancement of commercial capabilities, and the execution of targeted acquisitions to broaden market reach.

The acquisition is heavily underpinned by sustainability, which Serres views as its core market differentiator. G Square partners Oliver Hoenich and Yasemin Arik emphasised that the company’s world-class sustainable products and strong innovation culture provide a unique platform for scaling.
