EDG acquires Fresh Tandartsen further consolidating Dutch dentistry
Pan-European oral care group European Dental Group (EDG) has acquired Fresh, including leading Dutch dental group Fresh Tandartsen, mobile dental care service Fresh Unieke Mondzorg, and Fresh’s dental laboratories in the Netherlands.
According to private equity owner Nordic Capital, with the integration of Fresh, its TopMondzorg (part of EDG) will operate 169 clinics, three referral labels (orthodontics, complex dentistry and oral surgery), and strengthen its position in the ambulant oral care market.

The Dutch market remains highly fragmented. This transaction reaffirms dentistry’s appeal: predictable cash flows, room for efficiency gains, and in the Netherlands a largely unconsolidated landscape ripe for disciplined aggregators like EDG.
