Dr Michelle Tempest in the latest Healthcare Business International
Last week’s announcements on the 10-year plan to reform the NHS by PM Keir Starmer aimed to address critical issues highlighted by Lord Darzi’s report, but concerns have been raised about the achievability of the plan as well the extent of private provider involvement.
In Friday’s edition of Healthcare Business International, Candesic Senior Partner Dr Michelle Tempest pointed out that private sector involvement will only increase in the short term, particularly to help address waiting lists. In spite of political sensitivity around private providers, Michelle also noted that to “solve the productivity puzzle,” the NHS and independent sector need to work together.
