Bridgepoint to buy Obagi Medical for up to $460m

29 June 2026

Publicly traded global multi-brand beauty and wellness platform Waldencast is selling its Obagi Medical skincare and aesthetics business to the private equity firm Bridgepoint.

For Bridgepoint, the acquisition bolsters its expanding track record across the dermatology, aesthetics, and professional skincare ecosystem. Obagi Medical, a pioneer in physician-dispensed skincare, expanded its addressable market through its 2025 acquisition of Novaestiq and the subsequent launch of the FDA-approved Saypha MagIQ dermal filler line.

The transaction, valued at up to $460m, represents a significant strategic step designed to strengthen the seller’s balance sheet and focus resources on its Milk Makeup brand. This restructuring marks a major turning point for the Nasdaq-listed consumer goods entity, which has prioritised capitalisation improvements and debt reduction.

At the close of the transaction, which is anticipated in Q3 2026, Waldencast co-founders Michel Brousset and Hind Sebti will transition to lead Obagi Medical under private equity ownership.
