ARCHIMED takes majority stake in medical imaging cloud company

22 October 2026

Global healthcare private equity specialist ARCHIMED has announced that its Healthcare IT team has acquired a majority stake in 3verest, a London-headquartered provider of sovereign cloud infrastructure dedicated to medical imaging.

For healthcare operators and investors, the transaction highlights the rising critical importance of data sovereignty in clinical environments. Unlike traditional cloud providers that often resell capacity from global hyperscalers, 3verest owns and operates its own private infrastructure. This model ensures that medical imaging data remains within the legal jurisdiction of the region it serves, addressing a requirement that has evolved from a procurement preference to a mandatory condition in many territories. The company currently maintains a global footprint with offices in Sydney, Chicago, and Munich, providing essential hosting and security for radiology departments.

The investment is designed to accelerate 3verest’s expansion beyond its core radiology market into other imaging-intensive specialities such as cardiology and pathology. These sectors face similar regulatory obligations and infrastructure demands, making them natural areas for growth. The deal positions 3verest to support the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence within health systems. By owning the underlying infrastructure, 3verest enables clinical providers to implement AI tools without relinquishing control or ownership of the sensitive data required to run those applications.
