Voyage Care acquires Orchard Healthcare Group
Voyage Care has successfully completed the acquisition of Orchard Healthcare Group, marking a major consolidation in the UK specialist care sector.
The deal involves the 100 per cent acquisition of Orchard by Voyage Care, a leading provider of specialist support backed by the investment firm Wren House Infrastructure. This strategic move is particularly significant for investors as it expands Voyage Care’s footprint in the underserved and high demand segment of complex dementia and mental health care.
Orchard operates multiple purpose-built care homes, primarily across the North of England and the Midlands, providing a range of services including residential, nursing, and specialist dementia care.
For operators, the acquisition is notable for the inclusion of Orchard’s proprietary Reconnect model. This high quality care framework is specifically designed to support individuals with complex requirements in a community setting, addressing a growing unmet need across the British healthcare landscape. The Reconnect model is expected to provide a robust platform for the combined group to share expertise and innovate in specialist residential care.
The transition plan focuses on continuity for staff and residents, with Orchard Healthcare Group initially continuing to operate as a separate entity within the wider Voyage Care family.
