Leading pan-European provider of community-based clinics and advanced diagnostics Affidea has announced a strategic partnership with London International Patient Services (LIPS Healthcare).

LIPS Healthcare is the largest private consultant-led multi-specialty group in the UK.

For operators and investors, the deal signals a move towards scalable, out-of-hospital care models that respond to the evolving demand for accessible outpatient services. As part of the agreement, Affidea will co-invest alongside LIPS Healthcare in a state-of-the-art 40,000 square foot multi-specialty clinic on Prince of Wales Drive in London, which is scheduled to break ground later this year. The partnership also includes the extension of the existing Battersea Power Station Clinic in Southwest London.

The rationale centres on combining the established consultant-led model of LIPS with the international operational expertise of Affidea, which currently operates a network of more than 420 centres across 14 countries. Executives from both organisations have highlighted that this joint venture creates a robust platform for future expansion across London and the wider UK market while preserving the entrepreneurial medical culture that defines the LIPS model.

Affidea UK and Ireland CEO Barry Downes noted that the partnership provides a strong foundation to support the rapid evolution of the UK private healthcare sector, where high-quality outpatient care is increasingly sought in convenient settings.
