Ambea strengthens its Nordic footprint with two December buy-outs

24 December 2025

Sweden-based leading Nordic care provider Ambea AB has accelerated its regional expansion by striking two targeted deals that deepen its presence in specialised care and child protection, segments with resilient, needs-driven demand.

On Monday, December 1, Ambea’s Swedish arm Nytida signed to purchase Serigmo Care KÅS AB and Villa Arelid AB from Swedish investment company Serigmo Invest. The businesses run residential homes, short-term accommodation and camp activities in Enköping, Alingsås and Vallentuna. The takeover brings additional competence in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and reinforces Nytida’s nationwide network of over 400 units.

Eighteen days later, Ambea’s Finnish division Validia agreed to acquire Terveystalo Sauma Lastensuojelupalvelut Oy, which operates 13 residential units for children and young people across Finland and offers foster-care solutions focused on neuro-psychiatric needs.

Together, the two transactions add roughly SEK 170m (€15.7m) in annualised sales, equivalent to almost 2% of Ambea’s 2024 top line, while broadening its Nordic headcount and service mix.

Strategically, management looks to be doubling down on high-acuity, small-scale settings where public purchasers value quality leadership and local expertise.

For operators, integration offers scope to share training programmes, procurement and digital care pathways across borders, potentially lifting margins despite the modest size of each target. For investors, the deals underline Ambea’s bolt-on acquisition model: small, cash-generative assets absorbed at regular intervals to sustain organic expansion and defend market share.
