Congratulations to our client ArchiMed on their acquisition of Eurolyser Diagnostica, a fast-growing Austrian IVD player. The announcement follows ArchiMed’s investment in Italy-based DIESSE diagnostica senese SpA, and marks the fund’s second investment in the IVD space this year. Eurolyser Diagnostica’s point of care platform serves three distinct end markets: medical diagnostics, veterinary diagnostics, and food & feed. The business has grown from distinct leadership positions in both medical and veterinary mono tests, and it will be interesting to see how management is challenging the status quo of incumbents such as Orion Diagnostica Oy, IDEXX, and Abaxis, Inc.
